Too faced - Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick, swatches and my dupes for 2 of the shades.

I was the other day till the mall to grab some yummies and since there is a Sephora store I couldn't help but enter to check around. I remembered that Too Faced "recently" came up with their own type of products to liquid lipstick (since everyone has, OCC, L'Oreal, Sleek etc.) Unfortunately they didn't have testers of all the shades (classically) to swatch them all for you so I swatched only 2 of them and I will use the swatches from the Too Faced site for the rest. :) I will also show you, from my collection, "dupes" which cannot be dead on the same but pretty similar, color-wise (because as a texture, I don't really own any liquid lipstick type.... thingy yet, haha).

6 shades are known but surprisingly, the site presents swatches of 10 different colors! The Sephora here didn't even have the basic six, haha. Anyway, here are the swatches from the site.

If you click on the picture you can even see the names of every shade so I  won't mention them. The two shades that I swatched are the bright red "Melted Ruby" and the "Melted Fuchsia". They are both really rich and super bright to the point that even these swatches above don't make them any justice showing how bright they really are!

I'm going to start with my swatch and "dupes" for "Melted Ruby". Remember my "dupes" are only close color-wise. Also my dupes might be products from companies available only in certain countries, (especially for the pink one) or products that are discontinued, so this is an entertaining post and not necessarily a guide to find dupes for it. I would be more than happy to have all the lipsticks in the world so I can find actual dupes for you but unfortunately I don't. I will underline those that they are pretty much (still) available worldwide.

"Melted Ruby" is an exceptional red color that you can either apply it lightly and get a super bright, slightly pinkish red or apply it generously and get a bright deeper red. Very shiny too.

1. Too Faced - Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in "Melted Ruby"
2. Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick, no 440 "Cherries in the snow", I know in the picture it looks more like a dupe for the pink one but in reality is more reddish than what it shows.
3. Essence Lipstick, no 03 "Dare to Wear" - the closest dupe, to color that I have.
4. Chanel - Premier Rouge in "First Red"
5. Avon - Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in "Red 2000"
6. Juvena, no 141 "RED" I'm pretty sure this is loooong time discontinued.
7. Clinique - Long Last Lipstick, no 3 "100% Red"

What is important to mention is that after only a short time the Too Faced lipsticks "feathered" and ran between my skin lines which makes possible the fact that they might "bleed" on your lips....

Here is "Melted Fuchsia" and my similar lipsticks....

"Melted Fuchsia" is a pure hot fuchsia, in my belief, without purple or orange undertones.

1. Too Faced - Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in "Melted Fuchsia"
2. Dido, no. 13 (available in Greece)
3. Avon - Perfect Kiss in "Fuchsia Flirt"
4. Lovie, no. 37 (avail. in Greece)
5. Lovie no. 33 (avail. in Greece)
6. Seventeen Cosmetics - no. 356 "Hot Pink" (avail. in Greece)

One more thing I believe is important to say is that these lipsticks are promoted as "Long Wear" which makes sense to not transfer easily when they touch or not co completely off when you wipe your lips which is not true. They do transfer pretty much like a lipgloss and when I wiped them slightly they did get removed with the red shade letting a sliiiiiiiight tint to my skin.

The price of them on the "Too Faced" site is 21 dollars.

Maybelline "The Rocket" Volume Express, Mascara Review

Hello world! Loooong time no see!!! I wasn't able to make a decent post for a long time due to my exams and some health problems that I still deal with and also other issues. How y'all been? I hope you have a great summer, I tried for so many months to make a monthly favorites but I failed :P I still owe you some reviews like the Sephora makeup removing oil (i know, since like January! I'm so bad!) but obviously I haven't forgotten. For those that they don't know I've also started a blog in Romanian where I will mostly review products mainly available in Romania only or other closer countries (I've only done one post yet but I promise as soon as my health is ok I'll come back stronger and with many many posts). For whoever interested my blog in Romanian is: Vreau sa fiu frumoasa so check it out and subscribe :)

Anyway to get to the point of this post, this is my review on Maybelline's mascara "The Rocket" Volume express. Now you probably know that I love Maybelline mascaras, the original Colossal, the Colossal 100% black and the Falsies (the flared version) are those that I have tried so far and loved them. But I thought since 3 out of 3 Maybelline mascaras are awesome I'll try the rest of them. Why not, they are around 5-7 euro anyway. So after seeing a lot of YouTube videos and reviews I saw that a lot of people liked "The Rocket".

When I saw the tester at the store I noticed that the wand's bristles are plastic and super duper short especially at the tip of the wand and that made me think that this can't be for sure good because short bristles will make hard grabbing all the lashes and plastic bristles mean if you get close to your eye you will scratch yourself but I acted against my instinct and followed the internet crowd that loved it. And guess what.... I was wrong not to trust my instinct!

As I mentioned and as you can see the bristles are plastic that makes it impossible to apply mascara from the root of your lashes because you'll simply scratch your eyelid. You can also see that the tip of the wand almost doesn't even have bristles anymore so you can't apply mascara to the lashes of your inner corner of the eye. Therefore this wand is absolutely useless and I just can't understand what they were thinking when they made this mascara for volume when you can't even apply it properly! It is possible that they were trying to make a similar mascara to the L'Oreal telescopic which as well has plastic bristles but it's far easier to apply product with that.

Anyway, to avoid getting off topic, as I said, this wand is really poorly designed, in my opinion it's pretty much rubbish. Now to the formula of the mascara and the effect that it gives. As I said it's impossible to apply it properly therefore I didn't see any volumizing effect so from this point of view for a mascara that offers volume, this product is a complete failure. It can give some length if you manage to apply it as close to the lash roots as you can (without taking your eye out or smearing mascara everywhere) but it's not that big of a deal. Lastly, I believe it makes the lashes very stiff which is not nice or desirable and even though it's not the waterproof version it's a pain in the butt to remove even with oils.

In other words, if you want a volumizing mascara save your money from this one and just get some other maskara like the Colossal or the Falsies.

PROS:
- Cheap
- Okay formula (kind off)

CONS:
- Not practical wand.
- Difficult application.
- No meritorious effect on the lashes.
- Hard to remove.
- Makes the lashes feel weird.

My overall grade for it is:
