Faves and Fails of April 2013

I'm not sure if I will do this every month but I saw from a few fellow bloggers this kind of post and I liked it. Here is the list of a few makeup products that I used a LOT this month.

Avon Calming Effects Foundation in "Ivory"

I have very sensitive skin that gets red spots and dry patches and even though this is a very light coverage foundation it's really good for every day. It doesn't accentuate my dry patches (like many foundations do) and it doesn't break out my acne prone chin area. Definitely recommend it!

Mac's "Pink Venus"

A lot of mac eyeshadows are not really pigmented as this one. It's a very sheer baby pink with a lot of shimmer in it. Even thought the pigmentation is poor it's perfect for every day makeup when you want to add a bit of brightness to your eyes without being too noticeable.

Mac's "Zoom Fast Black Lash"

My favorite mascara next to Maybelline's the colossal. It actually gives a nice volume to my lashes which I appreciate because I have very long but thin lashes. So LOVE it!

Avon's "Golden Peach"

This lip gloss is from the 24k gold series and I am pretty impressed both with the lip glosses and the lipsticks from this line. They have just the right amount of glitter/shimmer in them for a glamorous look. This specific lip gloss is a coral pink with pretty gold glitter. Perfect for day and night time.

Mac's "Cream Cup" lipstick:

I totally forgot I owned this hahaha. It's so pretty!!!! A lovely bluish shade of light pink that can be used to give you a sweet look. Love it!

Lacta Chocolate filled with mousse:

Not a beauty product but definitely something that I really liked this month. My brother insisted on trying this and it's so yummy! Unfortunately it's only available in Greece.

Fails of the month:

Here are some products that I used and didn't like at all.

Avon's Ideal Flawless Cream-to-powder foundation.

Don't have to say anything else about this since I already have a review on it, you can read it here.

Avon SuperSHOCK gel eyeliner in "Shimmering Sapphire"

I wanted to make a separate post on this but I'm just gonna review it here fast. It's pretty much useless as it's not pigmented enough to be used as an actual eyeliner, you have to built it A LOT so you can actually see it as an eyeliner. It's also useless as base, the eyeshadows won't stick on top of it so you can't really use it as a base for a blue eyeshadow look. It also cannot be used alone as an eyeshadow as it's not pigmented enough to show. 

Johnson's Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

I didn't get a lot of stuff with me to my trip so I just use whatever I found in the house. I am not impressed with this remover at all. It makes my eyes feel weird and it doesn't clean very well.

Tag: The 7 deadly sins of beauty!

I saw it from the beautiful Maria so I decided to do it too.

1) Greed: 
Which is the cheapest and the most expensive beauty product that you own?
I own some nail polishes that cost less than 0.5 euro I also own products that came for free along with other products that I purchased.
The most expensive, if we include perfumes as beauty products then it's definitely the Miss Dior "Cherie" (costs more than 100 euro) if not I will say the kabuki brush from mac which costs around 60 euro.


2) Wrath:
Which product was the hardest to get?
Probably the Saint Germain and Candy Yum Yum lipsticks from Mac, but I have a few dupes that are identical to the second one :D


3) Gluttony:
Which is the most "delicious" product that you have?
Ummmm let's see, the nivea lip balms and generally other fruity lip balms and the Estee Lauder lip glosses.


4) Sloth:
What products you are too lazy to use so you skip it?
I am always lazy to remove my makeup. But something I skip is washing my face with a soap/foam product in the morning/night :P


5) Pride:
Which product gives you confidence?
The eyeliner.


6) Lust:
Which product you are desperate to buy?
I would really love to try some Sugarpill makeup but I am not confident with online shopping.


7) Envy:
Which product you saw and loved on others but hate on you?
Ummm probably the dark eye shadows on all over the lid, I kinda have very big, globe looking eyes and I find it unattractive on me to use on the whole lid dark colors so I avoid harsh smokeys etc....

Teeny Tiny Sunscreen Haul!!!

Ok just a very very fast and small post to show you the sunscreens that I got. For the face I usually use Avene and Bioderma and for the face I usually pick something that smells nice hahaha.

So as usual I didn't brake my tradition about the face, I got the Bioderma Sensibio Ar Compact in "Light Color", which looks like a cream foundation and it has spf 30. I haven't used it before but I tried it in the pharmacy and it looked just lovely! So it will be like skipping a step and I will not have to use foundation :). I will have to make a review on it but I need to use it for some time to see how it works. It's price is around 15 euro.

For the body I got the Gerovital Sun Emulsion with spf 30 but Farmec Company (romanian). I tried it on my hand and it smells amazing :)

What sunscreens do you use? :)

Avon Perfect Kiss Lipsticks (Swatches of more colors)

Some time ago I showed 4 colors from that line, you can read about it here. These lipsticks are really nice, moisturizing some of them are very bright some more sheer and they smell amazing. But a problem with these lipsticks is that the colors on the brochure have NOTHING to do with how the colors are in real life. So I thought of showing some more colors of this line with the hope that it will help you to get the color that you will enjoy :).

Kiss Me Pink:

"Kiss Me Pink" is a sheer shimmery pink color.

 Make Out Red:

It's a red color - quite pigmented more on the pink side of the red

 Berry Smooth:

Is a deep plum color with a small hint of pink, very vibrant.

Smitten Red:

Is more of dark true red.

Lacy Mauve:

I really have no idea why the name of this lipstick contains the word Mauve which means purple as it has no purple in it whatsoever. This color is an every day red shade

Loving Lilac:

This is my favorite of all of them. It's actually more vibrant in real life than in the picture. The rest of the colors look brighter in the pictures but I can't really catch the real color of them. This is a pink lilac color with a bit of shimmer. Perfect!

Chic Nude:

Pretty much the name says everything. It's a pretty nude color with a small amount of shimmer, very nice for every day looks. My second favorite :)

Generally:

The lipsticks are very nice but I have to say that the colors are kinda repetitive. The reds are very similar to each other as well as the pinks. In my opinion they shouldn't make a ton of shades that are very close to each other but few and different. Other than that you can read my previous review for them :)

Best Remedy for a Sore Throat.

So yeah, I did it. I managed to get a bad cold now that the weather is getting warm. It started with a very very sore throat and then with a huge fever. 

Here is a small article about one of the best thing you can use for a sore throat and when I say the best I mean the pain goes away in a minute. The word is about propolis honey. 

Propolis is a substance made by the bees. Propolis honey consists of bees wax and resins that bees collect from tree buds and other botanical sources.  It has antimicrobial usage. It can protect the human body against several bacteria. 

But propolis alone has offers many other benefits. It can be used in skin creams for burns as it takes away the inflammation and reduces scarring. It boosts the immunity system. And not only that but it improves the respiratory and dental healt! 

Of course you can only use propolis products only if you know that you are not allergic to it (as any other substance). 

I hope this was somewhat helpful to you, it definitely works for the throat pain. Maybe you can give it a try and let me know the results.

Avon Fails Vol.2

So I posted a few days ago my small Avon haul and one of the products I purchased was the ideal flawless invisible coverage cream to powder foundation.
I had watched some videos from the very popular youtube personas the pixiwoo sisters and especially Sam was so happy with this foundation so I said what the hell I'm gonna try it out.

I normally use the Calming Effects foundation from Avon and I love it but it has a light coverage so I wanted to try another one with a bit more coverage.

This foundation is AWEFUL! Really really bad. It's not blendable, it smells bad it makes the skin feel weird and it looks GROSS! I don't have skin problems at all, pimples, acne or anything like that so a simple foundation or bb cream does the trick for me but this foundation makes my skin REALLY UGLY! It makes it look patchy and dried out and doesn't cover not even the simplest flaw that you may have - like a small blemish for example. I regret buying this product and I don't suggest it at all.

I am an Avon reprezentative but I always say my honest opinion about the products even if that will lead to some of my clients not buying it. 

Small Avon Haul Campaign 5

So I made my order last week for Avon's campaign no. 5 (March - April). I was in need of some moisturizers and my boyfriend broke by accident one of my perfumes so I just did an order (was looking for excuse, hihihi ).

This is what I got.... I will post a few pictures of everything, I am planning to make reviews for most of these stuff (I have bad and good opinions) but in this post I will just go over them fast.

So as I said I was in need of moisturizer so in this campaign the set of day cream, night and eye cream were of the "Avon Solutions, Beautiful Hydration" was only around 8 euro so I was really excited. Until now I was using the "Complete Balance" set from which I liked the day cream but not so much the night because it has gel consistency but I will try these for a few days and let you know :)

The second thing I wanted to order was the "City Rush" perfume (because my boyfriend dropped it ) which is a very nice perfume that starts off a bit strong but after a while it lets the most beautiful smell on your clothes and skin! <3

In this campaign there were also in offer the "Avon Naturals" hair sprays only like 1.8 euro so I got 2 cherry blossom smelling ones. They smell a-m-a-z-i-n-g but they contain alcohol :( i forgot to check before i order them, i will still use them though.

I also order the "Ideal Flawless Invisible Cream-to-Powder" foundation in Ivory on which I will definitely make a review (not invisible at all -.- )

There was also another amazing offer with only 3.5 euro a set of "Glazewear" Lip gloss with a mascara so I went for it! Here is the lip gloss, I picked the "Pink Watermelon".

I also got a "Supershock" gel eyeliner in "Shimmery Sapphire" since I heard that they are really good (I didn't really see it but I will make a further review in another post).

Last but not least, I got 2 lipsticks one of the "24k Gold" collection in "Pink" and one from the "Pink Crystals" collection in "Pink Sapphire". In the pictures you will see that they are very similar but the "Pink Sapphire" has pink/purplish glitters in it whereas the "Pink" has more gold glitters and it's more on the red pink side.

My hair is very curly.

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I dye it myself

3. Do you wear the same style every day or do you change it?
I don't really bother to make up-dos, I usually wear it down, or on a ponytail or a bun or if I have time I braid it.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do it myself :)

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
Once - twice a week.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
In the winter as well.

7. How long does it take you to put on makeup? 
In the morning 15-20 minutes. If I will go out in the afternoon 30-45.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
If my eye makeup is not heavy i do the face first, if it is I do the eyes.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I collect :)

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes.
Very rarely

11. Do you do a full face makeup everyday?
Nope, if I put on makeup I put the basics unless I have time.

12. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone or with family?
Not really

13. Will you leave your house without makeup?
I do it all the time.

14. How many high-end products do you have?
Several.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
I wear whatever I find and I like hahaha

For the uni I usually use some specific ones, big enough to hold my papers/notebooks.

I have a messed up program :(

I don't work out as often as I would like I get easily demotivated.

I'm medium to short I guess, around 1.65 meters

English fluently - (my maternal language is greek), Romanian fluently and very very very VERY little french and spanish.

22. How many pets do you have?
I used to have a beautiful doggie, her name was Xena. Now I have a kitten and her name is Mikrouli (which means tiny, in greek)

Pretty much daily.

Sure

Yes, if I see something I like I note it down.

I can never see myself as a bombshell so...there you go.
