My opinion about Makeup Revolution.

Hello, I haven't written in ages but I want to make a quick post about Makeup Revolution. So being a makeup lover and obviously watching a LOT of youtubers reviewing products I fall sometimes into the hype.

You probably have heard about this company that has supposedly all those great super affordable products with lots of dupes for popular high end products like Too faced chocolate bars and Urban Decay's Naked Palettes and the Lorac Pros. So I placed an order and I got: the I heart makeup Chocolate Vice Palette, Pink Fizz, Iconic Pro 2, Newtrals vs Neutrals, the blush queen blush palette, matte blush in Divine, a lip lava in tremour and I received also a mystery bag with a matte foundation, the radiant light highlighter in glow, a mono shadow in acid, a metal shadow, a blush stick and 2 velour lip creams.

Having fallen for the hype and ALL the positive reviews out there on how amazing (especially) their eyeshadows are I was super excited to place an order getting dupes for pricey items but after i received the package I'm sad to say I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED. First of all ALL the items except the pink fizz palette, the foundation and the 3 lip products have a terrible cheap chemical/plastic smell and no it's not from the packaging it's from the actual products. If you have being interested in makeup and the youtube beauty community for over 5-6 years before all the companies started to make good quality shadows you might remember that there were some ebay 88 and 120 shadow palettes that were popular (due to lack of colorful shadows from a lot of companies) and  if you had purchased one you will for sure remember that chemical plastic smell that the shadows had. Well these smell even more intensly. Let me elaborate more the issues that I had with every product or what I liked. So let's start.

EYESHADOW PALETTES:

Besides the strong chemical smell, the shadows perform VERY poorly to the point that after 10 minutes from the application the colors from the crease are gone! I've tried all 4 of the shadows with 2 different primer, I never had this problem before, my eyes are not oily but LITERALLY after 10 minutes my crease is naked! Now let's say I could get over the smell but the fact that the product itself is bad and non usable is very, VERY UPSETING to me. And yes, they might cost around 12-15 euro but it's like you throw that amount of money right in the trash can since there is no point using the shadows. Blendability is also disappointing where the matte colors tend to get muddy and lost one in the other while the dark colors are hard to blend and the light and shimmery colors are a nightmare to show. I'm not trying to bash the company but their eyeshadows are by far THE WORST EYESHADOWS I'VE EVER TRIED! 

EYESHADOW MONO:
Same thing with above, it doesn't even swatch it just disappears no matter how much you try to build it up. I got a neon yellow shadow, I think it's called Acid and let me tell you if you want a neon color you have better luck with the sleek makeup acid palette.

BLUSH PALETTE AND MATTE BLUSH:

Again bad smell, some colors are pigmented when they swatch, they are ok to apply but again the lasting power is very bad and mind that I have dry skin and blushes are long lasting on me.

LIP LAVA:

I got the colour tremor which is supposed to be a dupe for Too Faced Melted Peony which I own. The colors are indeed very similar with Melted Peony being sliiiightly darker and pinkier. This is a product I actually liked. The packaging is a little annoying because it's very flimsy and hard to squeeze while the too faced tube doesn't have that issue but I do like the product I have NO COMPLAIN about this, no weird smell either and it's quite long lasting so at least this wasn't a bust!

THE ONE MATTE FOUNDATION:

One of the mystery bag products at first I was like this will be a fail but it's actually NOT THAT BAD! I've dry skin but it doesn't feel drying, it feels smooth, has very light coverage but you can build it up a little, lasting power is just ok but i think oily skins would definitely have an issue with it.

RADIANT LIGHT IN GLOW:

One of the mystery bag items, again. This one has also the chemical smell but it is quite pretty and smooth, it gives  a settle glow to the skin and the lasting power is ok. I like it.

BLUSH STICK IN MALIBU:

One more item from the mystery bag, I did like this one too, it blends easily and it's actually getting a lot sheer than when you swatch it which is nice because I'm fair so it doesn't look weird. You do have to build it up but I don't mind, I like it.

Velour Lip Creams:

I received a bubblegum pink and a true red. They have a very pleasant sweet scent.

The red one swatches  nicely and opaque while the pink looks like it disappears and if you try to build it up it gets stricky. They don't dry, they stay liquid on the lips, again staying power is pretty bad.

I didn't bother swatching as it will be a nightmare to try and build every shadow in order to show. Generally I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED especially with the shadows which is weird that they are one of the category that Makeup Revolution is praised for. When I placed the order i was thinking of getting the Too Faced sweet peach palette which costs around 50 euro (what i paid for all the makeup revolution items) but I thought since it'll arrive very late in my country (if it arrives at all) I'd rather get a bunch of other products with that money than one palette. But I was wrong. I own all 3 of the too faced chocolate bars and every time i use them it's a pleasure, wonderful application, no issues and I quite regret spending money on items that are not useful :( 

I WILL NOT be repurchasing ANY Makeup Revolution items again and I hope this will be a lesson to me to not fall for the hype that sometimes is not justified in the beauty community and I should always PREFER QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. Because you'd rather have one item that you love than 10 that are not working for you.

Rimmel London - Match Perfection Foundation - First Impression

Hello good people! How are you? I apologize for the lack of my posts but I had a long and very stressful exam session that affected my health so I wasn't feeling like writing even though I had a lot of topics on mind but here I am with a first impression on Rimmel's foundation "Match Perfection - Light Reflecting Radiance Foundation".

I am on the hunt for a new foundation since my beloved p2 Illuminating Touch Makeup and my Catrice BB allround foundations seem to started going "odd" (noticed a smell) I thought better off getting something else. Hunting for a foundation for a sensitive, dry, dehydrated, flaky with redness skin can be safely characterized as a pain in the butt. But I happened to read and see a lot of good reviews about Rimmel London's "Match Perfection" foundation and since it was pretty cheap I thought "let's be spontaneous and try it" (I normally research for like 2 months before I decide to buy a product).

Please keep in mind that this is NOT a complete review and only a "First Impressions" post so these are my thoughts on the foundation from trying it only a handful of times.

Comes in a glass bottle with a blue plastic cap and one positive thing I have to mention right away is that it has a pump! Its normal price in Romania from the store that I got it from is around 8.6 euros but I got it at the price of 6.4. The quantity is the standard 30ml for foundations and it has an spf of 18. Its texture is very liquidy and runny which is ok since you can be reckless on the application without resulting to a cakey face.

What it claims:

Traceless coverage foundation with Advanced Smart-Tone (that is ironic, you'll see why) tehnology for perfectly flawless skin under any light. Enhanced with Sapphire Radiance for an illuminating glow. Lasts all day.

The shade I got was "100 Ivory" and when I applied it to my face it was matching me perfectly until 10 minutes later that it went ORANGE! I first thought that I might have smeared blush or something all over my face so I decided to apply also to my neck (that at the beginning it wasn't necessary since as I said the shade was matching me pretty well). Needless to say after a few minutes the area of my neck covered with the foundation had also taken the orange teint as my face. I cannot believe it oxidized SO BADLY but maybe sometimes you just get what you pay for (I was hesitating on splurging on the Estee Lauder Double Wear but I think I HAVE to invest in a good foundation, my face deserves it, since I am getting closer to 30 I have to be more gentle to my skin).

Aside from the oxidizing part, it really does give a very nice coverage, as I said you don't look cakey whatsoever, it didn't cling on my dry patches like a lot of foundations do (like the Rimmel Wake me up for example) you could still see some of my red spots but they were very well covered and almost not visible. It gives indeed a lovely radiance, gives to the skin a flawless appearance and it doesn't feel dry. So it has a lot of advantages BUT oxidizing is a pretty big disadvantage that you can't really work with (I already picked the lightest shade that is available in this country and ordering from another country the even lighter one just with the hope that after oxidizing it would match it it's not really worth it to me).

I've pointed out (not professionally at all, lol) the areas on my neck free of foundation, in the pictures it doesn't look like that much of a difference but in reality the difference is quite noticeable (meaning that I would definitelty have to cover my neck too if I don't wanna look like a wear a mask if I continue using this).

My verdict:

This foundation does give a lovely coverage and it seems like is ok for dry skins but that "Smart-Tone" tehnology isn't so smart after all. I will try to work with it so maybe in the future I will write a complete review on it but only probably in the summer that I will be a bit pinker/more red from the sun myself otherwise this might end up to a friend that matches the oxidized shade of it. Too bad Rimmel!

Balea Shaving Gel "Summertime" (Mango Smell) Review.

Hello! Happy new year! I hope you are doing great! Today I'm going to talk to you about a Shaving Gel from Balea company (company that is sold in DM stores).

Now I usually use my boyfriend's shaving gel because... well it works well, it doesn't irritate and it's always in hand in the house but I was passing by a DM store like 2 weeks ago and I am always tempted to enter them so I did.
They had some shaving gels on sale and I wanted to be all fancy like and have my own "girly" shaving gel so I picked up the Mango smelling one.

Comes in a classic shaving gel's tube of 150ml and the gel itself is blue turning into a white foam when you apply it on the skin, ordinary stuff.

What the product promises:

"The soothing feeling smoother and softer skin, rounded by the fresh and fruity mango scent that delights the senses. The rich moisturizer moisturizing formula pampers the skin during shaving."

What I think:

The positive thing I've to say about this gel is that....it smells nice. Unfortunately that is the ONLY positive thing about it. 

It doesn't make the skin at all smoother, it doesn't feel moisturizing and it doesn't pamper you during shaving. On the contrary, the skin feels quite aweful and dry while shaving, it doesn't "prepare" the skin or the hairs for shaving like other gels do and the shaving becomes hard like you shave your legs dry basically. It actually makes the skin so dry and rough that I even managed to cut myself in a lot of spots with a protective razor (mach 3) and I have NEVER managed to cut myself with this razor before. After the shave obviously, the skin feels super irritated, red, itchy and painful. I even tried applying a ridiculously big amount of it with the hope that it will be better but it made no difference whatsoever.

Basically I don't even think I will finish up this product since it was so terrible for me, I might give it to someone but I'm sceptical I wouldn't want anyone to end up with irritated and cut skin, Bad job Balea.

This is probably one of the worst products I've tried in a long time, that will teach me to stick to my boyfriends trusted shaving gel! Cheers :)

Maybelline "The Rocket" Volume Express, Mascara Review

Hello world! Loooong time no see!!! I wasn't able to make a decent post for a long time due to my exams and some health problems that I still deal with and also other issues. How y'all been? I hope you have a great summer, I tried for so many months to make a monthly favorites but I failed :P I still owe you some reviews like the Sephora makeup removing oil (i know, since like January! I'm so bad!) but obviously I haven't forgotten. For those that they don't know I've also started a blog in Romanian where I will mostly review products mainly available in Romania only or other closer countries (I've only done one post yet but I promise as soon as my health is ok I'll come back stronger and with many many posts). Anyway to get to the point of this post, this is my review on Maybelline's mascara "The Rocket" Volume express. Now you probably know that I love Maybelline mascaras, the original Colossal, the Colossal 100% black and the Falsies (the flared version) are those that I have tried so far and loved them. But I thought since 3 out of 3 Maybelline mascaras are awesome I'll try the rest of them. Why not, they are around 5-7 euro anyway. So after seeing a lot of YouTube videos and reviews I saw that a lot of people liked "The Rocket".

When I saw the tester at the store I noticed that the wand's bristles are plastic and super duper short especially at the tip of the wand and that made me think that this can't be for sure good because short bristles will make hard grabbing all the lashes and plastic bristles mean if you get close to your eye you will scratch yourself but I acted against my instinct and followed the internet crowd that loved it. And guess what.... I was wrong not to trust my instinct!

As I mentioned and as you can see the bristles are plastic that makes it impossible to apply mascara from the root of your lashes because you'll simply scratch your eyelid. You can also see that the tip of the wand almost doesn't even have bristles anymore so you can't apply mascara to the lashes of your inner corner of the eye. Therefore this wand is absolutely useless and I just can't understand what they were thinking when they made this mascara for volume when you can't even apply it properly! It is possible that they were trying to make a similar mascara to the L'Oreal telescopic which as well has plastic bristles but it's far easier to apply product with that. 

Anyway, to avoid getting off topic, as I said, this wand is really poorly designed, in my opinion it's pretty much rubbish. Now to the formula of the mascara and the effect that it gives. As I said it's impossible to apply it properly therefore I didn't see any volumizing effect so from this point of view for a mascara that offers volume, this product is a complete failure. It can give some length if you manage to apply it as close to the lash roots as you can (without taking your eye out or smearing mascara everywhere) but it's not that big of a deal. Lastly, I believe it makes the lashes very stiff which is not nice or desirable and even though it's not the waterproof version it's a pain in the butt to remove even with oils.

In other words, if you want a volumizing mascara save your money from this one and just get some other maskara like the Colossal or the Falsies.

PROS:

- Cheap

- Okay formula (kind off)

CONS:

- Not practical wand.

- Difficult application.

- No meritorious effect on the lashes.

- Hard to remove.

- Makes the lashes feel weird.

Avon SuperFULL Mascara Review

Hello everyone! I hope you are having an entertaining weekend, me not so much I had a very hard exam at the Uni today and it didn't go very well :P

This will be a review about Avon's SuperFULL mascara. Now I got this a long time ago as a set with a lipgloss - I think - for quite cheap but I never opened it till December, I had read positive reviews about it so I said well okay let's try it.

This is what it looks like. A classic plastic tube with a very thin and plastic wand.

To the review:

First of all the wand is AWFUL! It's hard and scratchy and it's completely annoying to apply.

The mascara itself is really not great at all, it's not even nice as a generic mascara. It doesn't do anything to my lashes on the contrary it makes my lashes look really horrible and short (and I have very long lashes in reality). So pretty much ZERO effect on the lashes - if not negative. No length, no volume, NOTHING.

Another disadvantage is that it makes the lashes stick with each other to the point that I get annoyed and I have to try to separate my lower from my upper lashes with my hand all the time. And the paradox is that even though it makes the lashes so gross and sticky it dries them out really badly to the point that mine look more sparse and poorer than how they really are.

It's easy to see that my lashes are stuck together and they are clumpy and looking weird. Epic fail mascara!

Furthermore, I haven't been using this mascara for not even 2 months and it's already dried out and clumpy fact that I don't even care for because I am tossing this loser mascara out!

- Are you satisfied by the product?

- NO WAY!

- Do you recommend it?

- Absolutely not!

- Will you repurchase it?

- Heck no!

Final verdict: F-

Elmiplant's Daily Exfoliate Review

Hi again! One more review!!! I actually took pictures for a makeup look that I did but I can find the cable to connect my camera to my pc :P. Anyway!

Today I'm gonna tell you about the daily exfoliating gel from Elmiplant company. Basically Elmiplant is the same company with Bioten, comes from a greek cosmetics company (Sarantis). The 2 companies have similar products, the difference is the company is know more as Bioten in Greece and as Elmiplant in Romania.

I am not really using exfoliating products but a friend of mine suggested that it would be good for my skin to do. So i thought I should try and I got this one which was obviously the wrong exfoliating product for me.

It comes in a squeeze tube of 150ml which is a decent quantity. It contains lemongrass and micro-particles of bamboo and it's supposed to have a 3 in 1 action on the skin: Exfoliation, Hydration and Helping at imperfections such as black spots etc.

I would REALLY love to tell you if this thing worked but I can't use it. It scratched the hell out of my face I couldn't even massage it gently for 10 seconds. I am serious.

I strongly suggest to avoid this product if you have sensitive skin because it hurt so badly that I just put it on my face and had to rinse it out. Epic fail.

Syoss: Anti-Frizz Lotion Review!

I don't know what is up and I only score products that won't work so I have to write a negative review about them but I think that the negative reviews are somehow more helpful than the positive ones because you can see for who and why it doesn't work.

So this review is about Syoss' Anti-Frizz Lotion. As you know I have curly hair and curly hair is often frizzy especially in cold weather. Now I usually use coconut oil after I wash my hair and a conditioner as a leave in and I am frizz-free at most of the times. But sometimes the coconut oil can be heavy on the hair especially if you have bright colored hair and you don't wash them daily. So i thought i should give this lotion a try. It may come to your surprise but I haven't tried any other Syoss products before so I don't know if they are good. However I tried this specific lotion and.... it's not.

It did absolutely NOTHING to my hair! It's supposed to give smoothness and texture and tame hair without stickiness. Lies! My hair was sticky, looking like hay and feeling totally dull and frizzy. Terrible, TERRIBLE product.

And comparing the really nice results that I have with just plain simple coconut oil and with this product that is supposed to be specifically made to control frizzing, it makes this product complete rubbish.

I don't really even wanna use up the product because it's just too bad! Maybe I'll try it one more time just so that I can show you a picture of how my hair is like. We will see.

This is the first product that gets ZERO from me.

Avon Luxe Eyeliner Review!

Boy oh boy! I haven't done a review (a normal one) in a long time!!! Today I am making a short and to the point review about Avon's liquid eyeliner from the line Luxe.

It looks like above. It gives the impression that is a long tube but it's actually not that long. It comes in 2 colors, black and brown and of course the price varies depending on which country we are talking about and if it's in offer or not. I got mine in black in an offer from around 4.5 euro that is it's normal price to around 2.5 if i remember correctly, I got it a couple of months ago. I wanted a black eyeliner to take with me on vacation because I was sure that I was gonna get bored to remove gel eyeliner at night with make remover and whatnot and this is easily removable with a bit of Dove soap.

Unfortunately it's easily removable in general. It has crappy staying power and even though in the picture the tip of the applicator looks thin and fine it really is not. The applicator is of bad quality and it messes up soon after you use it 2-3 times, even if you use it lightly and carefully. As a result, the application becomes hard and messy since the tip is deformed.
After you apply it you have to wait 2-3 minutes because it WILL run somehow on your nose or cheeks leaving black marks.

Even though Avon presents it as a "luxe" product, it has no quality of a luxe product. Not even of a generic liquid eyeliner.

In my opinion, save your money for something else.

Pros:
- Can't really find any pro in comparison with any other simple liquid eyeliner.

Con:
- Depending on the offer or not, it can be pricey for its quality.
- Of poor quality.
- Not easy to work with.

In a nutshell:
- Did you like this product?
- Can't say that I did.

- Do you recommend it?
- Definitely not.

- Would you repurchase it?
- No way :P

Faves and Fails of June and July 2013

I know it's super late for this but we are on vacation so you understand! Since I didn't have the chance to post my favorite products for June I'm gonna make one post for both months (anyway in June i didn't have a whole lot of  products to post about).

Let's start with the products that impressed me first, shall we?

1. Yves Rocher - Organic Vanilla Eau De Toilette. 

Best vanilla perfume EVER! I have a review on it which you can read by clicking here. I love vanilla scent and this perfume is appropriate for any time or any season. I just love it!

2. Avon Naturals: Lily and Gardenia set

This set doesn't have something extraordinary than any other spray/shower gel/ body cream set as a texture or anything but it smells like heaven!!!! Definitely a favorite at the moment!

3. Catrice - Multicolour Blush in 060 Strawberry Frapuccino

This is a gift by my friend Usi, she had sent me not long ago a package with goodies from Catrice along with a gorgeous pouch bag that I love so much. This is a perfect blush because it looks so natural but it also gives a very nice color on the cheeks. LOVE IT.

4. Bioderma - Sensibio Ar with SPF 30

I am a fan of tainted sunscreens this however is something between a foundation and a sunscreen so it's absolutely perfect now in the summer. At first I wasn't sure about it to be honest because it only has like 2 shades and the lightest was sort of yellowish on me but it turns out now that I tanned it matches me very well. The best way to apply it in my opinion is with a wet (not dripping) flat foundation brush. Now in the summer I don't even set it with powder and it has a decent staying power considering that in Greece the temperature is dangerously high and we sweat all day. 

To move on with the products that I didn't enjoy....

1. Essence - Stay Natural Concealer 

I like Essence products a lot, but this is not a good one. I was excited to try it but it's simply rubbish. Besides the fact that you have to turn the end a lot of times to take product out, it lets out a big quantity so you waste product. Second and most important issue is that it's so thick that you can't blend it properly and the finish is not "stay natural" at all. Disappointing...

2. Avon - Nail Experts. gel strength base coat

I didn't expect anything to be honest from this product and I was right not to. My nails are usually long even thought they are thin and I can keep them long without breaking them. But lately, I think due to stress they were chipping off so I thought this might help. Good thing I didn't have my expectations high...

3. China Glaze Nail Polishes in general.

I know people will hate me for saying this (hahaha) but China Glaze has GORGEOUS nail colors but the quality is RUBBISH!!! I have at least 8 colors and they all do the same thing, the same day after I apply it, it goes away from the edges. Disappointing, considering that it's an expensive brand.

Faves and Fails of May 2013

Hello everyone! I am sorry I don't post so often these days but I am close to my exam session so you understand I am somewhere between panicking and not having time to breath.

I started from last month this kind of post to let you know which products (new or older) I used this month and I enjoyed them and which ones I used and I got disappointed.

Let's start with the favorites. 

1. Avon LUXE lipstick in "Nude Slip"
This lipstick is the perfect nude color and this comes from a person that doesn't really like nude lips! I fell in love with it! It's not brown or beige or anything that will make you look dead it's the most flattering nude lipstick I ever saw. Not to mention that it has a great creamy texture and it keeps the lips hydrated. LOVE IT!

2.Avon's City Rush perfume: 
I already own this a few months but I use it very often so I had to mention it. It smells so good! It's a bit "loud" in the beginning but then it fades leaving a very sweet and elegant smell that lasts really long!

3. Farmec's Ultrarezistent nail polish in nr. 31
Such a pretty color it has the most beautiful colors of glitter together! Pink, purple and turquoise! Love it! I will buy it again and again.

Products I am not yet sure how i feel about:
1. Bioderma's Sensibio AR Compact with spf30:
I used before bioderma products included sunscreens and I loved them but I am not entirely sure about this. I think it gives me an orangey tone so I have to wear on top powder etc but other than that it doesn't feel bad on the skin. I notice some breakouts while I used it but I don't think it's from the product. I have to keep using it (i don't have the chance to use it daily because the weather sucks, it's cloudy and rainy). But I will do a review when I have a complete opinion about it.

2. Avon Solutions Beautiful Hydration Day, Night and Eye Cream.
I had used the Solutions Perfect Balance before and it was lovely but since I get dry patches on my cheeks I wanted to try a different and more hydrating cream. On my cheeks the effect is beautiful, i don't feel my skin "stretching" and burning or anything so for my very dry areas is amazing but my T-zone and chin are more oily so that area gets a bit greasy after the cream. I am thinking of using 2 different creams one for my dry areas and one for the oily ones. I guess it's not a total favorite but it does a great job.

Fails:
1. Aussie 3 min miracle
As I said in the review I have about it (read here) I have no idea why this product is called "miracle" as it's not even good as a generic conditioner, it definitely doesn't feel better on the hair, heck it doesn't even help at detangling. The only good thing about it is that gorgeous bubblegum smell but that's it. This products gets a D minus!

Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Review.

One of the things I forgot to mention in my Easter haul is the Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor. There was a coupon for it and since I wanted to try it anyway I thought I should give it a try.

The price in Greece is around 9 euro but thank god for the coupon I bought it with 6 :P.

It claims to make the hair smoother, repair the destroyed ends and make the hair softer and more manageable. You are supposed to put it on your hair and let it for 1 to 3 minutes according to how "thirsty" your hair is and then you rinse it out and your hair is all diva looking. 

The good thing I have to say is that it smells amazing! It has a pretty smell of bubblegum which lasts on the hair so definitely thumbs up for that.

The bad thing is that this product is overated and it's NOTHING MORE than a normal and mediocre conditioner. First of all it didn't help to detangle my hair I actually had to use my conditioner for this and you have to use a big amount of it so for my hair I think I used at once one quarter of the bottle or something so it's not economic at all for curly and long hair.

Now I have a VERY good conditioner and if I compare this one to mine it's pretty much a failure. I am not sure why there is a big fuzz about it and that it's so good etc but I do not recommend it. It will not do any "Miracles" to your hair it definitely doesn't feel like it's deep conditioning and if you are gonna use it as a simple conditioner you can get better products than this - not to mention cheaper.

So in my opinion this isn't really worth it's money. If you want a product that will truly make your hair more manageable and softer go for Joico products, they are pricey but trust me those ARE miracle products. 

So, to sum up, I didn't like anything about this product except the smell and I definitely don't recommend it.

Farmasi's "Catwalk Illusion" Mascara Review.

So as I said in previous posts here in Romania, Farmasi products are very popular and I have to say that they have very good quality and good prices.
So I was in the search for a new colored mascara, I wanted to try the one by Seventeen to be honest but I thought I should try the Farmasi one being extremely cheap.

Farmasi has only one line of colored mascaras called Catwalk Illusion. It claims to be an "ultra volumising mascara" that can give XXL volume instantly. I bought the green one.

The formula of the mascara is EXTREMELY dry! And when I say extremely dry I mean there were small pieces of mascara falling out while I was applying it. It makes me think that the tube might be too old and the mascara dried out inside even though it was closed or it's a really really bad formula.

Other than that it does give a green tint to the lashes but you have to apply a big amount of mascara for the color to show. Let it be noted here that my lashes are blond so maybe for darker lashes it will show easier (?).

Moreover it definitely didn't add any volume to my lashes whatsoever.

Generally I am not very pleased with this mascara even though generally I love Farmasi products and I definitely will not repurchase it again.

I will try to take some shots later on my eyes so you can see the effect.

Faves and Fails of April 2013

I'm not sure if I will do this every month but I saw from a few fellow bloggers this kind of post and I liked it. Here is the list of a few makeup products that I used a LOT this month.

Avon Calming Effects Foundation in "Ivory"

I have very sensitive skin that gets red spots and dry patches and even though this is a very light coverage foundation it's really good for every day. It doesn't accentuate my dry patches (like many foundations do) and it doesn't break out my acne prone chin area. Definitely recommend it!

Mac's "Pink Venus"

A lot of mac eyeshadows are not really pigmented as this one. It's a very sheer baby pink with a lot of shimmer in it. Even thought the pigmentation is poor it's perfect for every day makeup when you want to add a bit of brightness to your eyes without being too noticeable.

Mac's "Zoom Fast Black Lash"

My favorite mascara next to Maybelline's the colossal. It actually gives a nice volume to my lashes which I appreciate because I have very long but thin lashes. So LOVE it!

Avon's "Golden Peach"

This lip gloss is from the 24k gold series and I am pretty impressed both with the lip glosses and the lipsticks from this line. They have just the right amount of glitter/shimmer in them for a glamorous look. This specific lip gloss is a coral pink with pretty gold glitter. Perfect for day and night time.

Mac's "Cream Cup" lipstick:

I totally forgot I owned this hahaha. It's so pretty!!!! A lovely bluish shade of light pink that can be used to give you a sweet look. Love it!

Lacta Chocolate filled with mousse:

Not a beauty product but definitely something that I really liked this month. My brother insisted on trying this and it's so yummy! Unfortunately it's only available in Greece.

Avon SuperSHOCK gel eyeliner in "Shimmering Sapphire"

I wanted to make a separate post on this but I'm just gonna review it here fast. It's pretty much useless as it's not pigmented enough to be used as an actual eyeliner, you have to built it A LOT so you can actually see it as an eyeliner. It's also useless as base, the eyeshadows won't stick on top of it so you can't really use it as a base for a blue eyeshadow look. It also cannot be used alone as an eyeshadow as it's not pigmented enough to show. 

Johnson's Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

I didn't get a lot of stuff with me to my trip so I just use whatever I found in the house. I am not impressed with this remover at all. It makes my eyes feel weird and it doesn't clean very well.

Avon Fails Vol.2

So I posted a few days ago my small Avon haul and one of the products I purchased was the ideal flawless invisible coverage cream to powder foundation.
I had watched some videos from the very popular youtube personas the pixiwoo sisters and especially Sam was so happy with this foundation so I said what the hell I'm gonna try it out.

I normally use the Calming Effects foundation from Avon and I love it but it has a light coverage so I wanted to try another one with a bit more coverage.

This foundation is AWEFUL! Really really bad. It's not blendable, it smells bad it makes the skin feel weird and it looks GROSS! I don't have skin problems at all, pimples, acne or anything like that so a simple foundation or bb cream does the trick for me but this foundation makes my skin REALLY UGLY! It makes it look patchy and dried out and doesn't cover not even the simplest flaw that you may have - like a small blemish for example. I regret buying this product and I don't suggest it at all.

I am an Avon reprezentative but I always say my honest opinion about the products even if that will lead to some of my clients not buying it.
